Stelvio pass
The Stelvio Pass: the queen of all Alpine passes. Every motorcyclist must have ridden that pass at some point.
Over the years I've done this quite a few times. Every time it is a challenge and above all a lot of fun!
Enjoy it while watching this video.

TT Circuit Historic
This route takes you to the past, when the TT of Assen was still a race held on public roads and went through a number of villages.
It is easy to follow the route, which is now a scenic route. There are signs everywhere, so it is easy to follow the track. It is even easier to download the route here and put it in your navigation. Have fun!

Nauders
In the summer of 2023 I spent several days in the Alps.
That means a lot of Alpine passes in a short time. And in addition, many other beautiful places to see and beautiful roads to ride on.
During that period I used a hotel in Nauders as a base. I chose the hotel by chance. But it turned out to be a golden move. I can recommend Hotel Alpetta to everyone: a good stay, friendly staff, delicious food!

Below is an impression of the routes I rode during that time.

First of all, that is the approach route: from Neu-Ulm to Nauders: a beautiful and varied route.

And then four wonderful routes that I drove with Nauders as starting and ending point.

Ulm-Nauders Tour
This is the approach route from Neu-Ulm to Nauders.
The first part, from the Netherlands, I rode for the most part on highways.
At Ulm I spent the first night and from there I continued on smaller roads to Nauders.
This video gives an impression of a varied ride between Neu-Ulm and Nauders.

Nauders-Silvretta Tour
This is the first route from Nauders.
This route leads over several passes in western Austria: the Pillerhöhe, the Arlberg Pass, the Flexen Pass, the Hochtannberg Pass, the Furkajoch, the Silvretta Pass and finally the Reschen Pass (Landeck).
This is quite a long route of almost 350 kilometers. At the end of this ride you will probably be tired but completely satisfied.

Nauders-Livigno Tour
This is the second route starting in Nauders.
This route makes two loops south through Austria, Switzerland and Italy. These are the passes included in this route: the Norbertshöhe, de Ofen Pass, the Foscagno Pass, the Aprica Pass, the Gavia Pass, the Stelvio Pass (partially), the Umbrail Pass, and finally the Reschen Pass.
This tour is over 325 kilometers. It is a beautiful route with a lot of variety and also a lot of great bends.

Nauders-Stelvio Tour
This is the third route starting in Nauders.
A very nice route, which first goes south into Italy: you pass a number of beautiful places to ride and view. Then to Switzerland. There you will discover how beautiful it is to ride in a country where everything is well taken care of, but where the bends are not straightened. Ultimately you return to Austria via the Norbertshöhe.
These are the passes included in this route: the Reschen Pass, the Stelvio Pass, the Foscagno Pass, the Livigno Pass, the Bernina Pass, the Albula Pass, the Flüela Pass, and finally the Norbertshöhe.
This tour is over 300 kilometers. A beautiful and fascinating route.

Nauders-Timmelsjoch Tour
This is the fourth route starting in Nauders.
Like the previous route, this route first goes south into Italy, via the Reschen Pass.
The route then turns east towards Merano, and with a nice detour you arrive at St. Leonhard, where you can start the beautiful ride over the Timmelsjoch, followed by a very nice ride over the Ötztaler Gletscherstraße.
On the way back to Nauders you will pass many beautiful places and you will also ride a large stretch of the Pillerhöhe, before you finally end up back in Nauders after about 300 kilometers.

Alps and Dolomites
Passes in the Alps and Dolomites: Some people can't get enough of logging many kilometers through the Alps and Dolomites.
I am one of those people.

This route goes over the Colle del Nivolet.
In the north of Turin: a dead end road worth seeing, and you ride up to 2612 m above sea level. It is the Colle del Nivolet. Lots of fun with bends and great views of the French Alps, beautiful scenery and on the way back a route over two relatively unknown passes that are worth rifing: Col San Giovanni (1,109 m) and Colle del Lys (1,311 m).

NL-Pieterpad
The 'Pieterpad' (Peter path) is a walking route in The Netherlands from Pieterburen in the north of Groningen to Sint-Pietersberg near Maastricht in the south.
It is a beautiful walking route that shows you all kinds of special things in the Netherlands.

But why would you only be able to do this route on foot? Alternatives are of course also conceivable.
That is why I have created this Pieterpad route for motorcycles: a route in five stages, to cover the path of more than 500 km in the way that you like:

  • On one day.
  • On five consecutive days to enjoy driving in peace and all the beautiful things you encounter along the way.
The stages are created in such a way that this can be done in an easy way.
  • On five different days.
  • Some other way: whatever you want.

NL-Pieterpad 1
This is the first stage. This stage goes from Pieterburen in Groningen to Erm in Drenthe.

You will encounter special roads along the way: lots of bikers would not even suspect their existence.

Download this route here: NL-Pieterpad 1.trf

NL-Pieterpad 2
This is the second stage. This stage goes from Erm in Drenthe to Nijverdal in Overijssel.

Once again you will see much of the beauty that the Netherlands has to offer while driving through it.

Download this route here: NL-Pieterpad 2.trf

NL-Pieterpad 3
This is the third stage. This stage goes from Nijverdal in Overijssel to Millingen aan de Rijn.

Along the way you will pass through a particularly beautiful nature reserve, a beautiful part of the Achterhoek and a short stretch through Germany, before you reach the end of this stage.

Download this route here: NL-Pieterpad 3.trf

NL-Pieterpad 4
This is the fourth stage. This stage goes from Millingen aan de Rijn to Venlo.

This stage starts at a beautiful spot on the Rhine. During this stage you will drive south along the eastern border. You will also see a lot of beautiful things in the Meuse basin.

Download this route here: NL-Pieterpad 4.trf

NL-Pieterpad 5
This is the fifth stage. This stage goes from Venlo to Maastricht.

This last stage of the Pieterpad starts in Venlo on the banks of the river Meuse. During this stage, that river is never far away. Gradually you will discover how beautiful Limburg is. Really fun!

Download this route here: NL-Pieterpad 5.trf

NL-Gld-Hattem rondje Veluwe
This route lets you discover a beautiful part of the Veluwe in the northwest of the Dutch province of Gelderland. A small part in the 'head' of the province of Overijssel is also visited.
It is a route where you will be impressed by the natural beauty in this part of the Netherlands.
The route starts and ends in the old and beautiful Hanseatic town of Hattem.

NL-Dr-Emmelkamp
Emmelkamp is the name used in the Bentheim dialect for Emlichheim.
This route shows you all kinds of beautiful places around Emlichheim and along the Vecht river.
And as if that is not enough, you can then enjoy a beautiful ride on rural roads through the south of the province of Drenthe.
The start and end of the route is in Zuidbarge, a beautiful district of Emmen.

Download this route here: NL-Dr-Emmelkamp.trf

Dry and wet at the river Vecht
Part of the route above crosses the river Vecht and goes along the river through the overflow area.
About eight months after I recorded the video above, I visited that area again. At that time, extremely heavy rain had fallen in recent weeks. I therefore thought it would be nice to record a video, showing a flooded overflow area.
Watch the video and see the differences! You'll also see how I end up halfway the route in the water...

Storks above the highway
This is not a route to ride, but an impression of something special above the A28 near Staphorst in the Netherlands: a stork's nest, which is used every year. It is a special nursery high above the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
